**Tokyo, Japan** - Madhouse has announced that the highly anticipated sequel to the popular baseball anime series "Ace of the Diamond" is officially in production. "Ace of the Diamond Act II" will continue the story of Eijun Sawamura and the Seidou High School baseball team as they navigate their way through the competitive world of Japanese high school baseball.
The announcement was made at the "Ace of the Diamond 10th Anniversary Event" held in Tokyo on October 16, 2022. The event also featured appearances from the cast and crew of the original anime, including voice actors Oosaka, Ryouta (Eijun Sawamura) and Shimazaki, Nobunaga (Satoru Furuya).
The original "Ace of the Diamond" anime series aired from 2013 to 2016, covering the first 127 chapters of the manga series by Yuuji Terajima. The sequel series is expected to adapt the remaining chapters of the manga, which ran until 2022.
The manga is known for its intense action, realistic baseball gameplay, and memorable characters. It has been a critical and commercial success, selling over 40 million copies worldwide.
The anime sequel is highly anticipated by fans of the original series and newcomers alike. No release date has been announced, but it is expected to premiere sometime in 2023 or 2024.
